In order for this enchantment to trigger, the critical hit or critically-failed save must directly result from the actions of an enemy combatant. It does not trigger on critical failures of skill checks or your own attacks, saves against environmental hazards (even if the hazard was indirectly caused by an enemy), or friendly-fire incidents caused by allies' critical failures.
