Ghost, Incorporeal, Arcane
A mysterious form of trickster spirit that haunts buildings. Difficult to draw out of hiding, poltergeists drive away unwanted visitors with their telekinetic and illusory powers.
Although they are a form of ghost, poltergeists are not undead as they do not appear to have occupied a living body at any point in their past.
Few have ever seen what these mischievious spirits look like, as they remain invisible unless forced out of hiding. They appear to take the shape of a glowing body of light in a rough humanoid shape.
Spirits move by floating above the ground. They move laterally and vertically using their normal Speed, and can pass through solid objects.
Poltergeists can remain invisible indefinitely without the use of a spell. A Detect Magic spell cast at a level greater than the poltergeist's Psionic Magic skill level is required to see its true form.
The creature can dive or float through a living creature to inflict Freezing damage.

Alignment: Chaotic Impure
Locating a poltergeist is half the battle. Poltergeists hide out in the hard-to-reach spaces of the buildings they haunt, remaining invisible and only emerging to cause disturbances to scare away unwelcome guests. They may attack by using their Physiomancy powers to throw or knock over large objects, or create auditory disturbances to confuse those searching for them.
The creature floats weightlessly and silently through the air, up to its regular Speed in total distance laterally and vertically.
The creature becomes invisible using its natural powers, or reveals itself if it's already invisible. This effect's duration is unlimited and does not require casting a spell.
The creature flies through the body of a living creature, inflicting damage as its manifestation absorbs energy from its victim.
Success: | The target takes Freezing damage. |
Critical Success: | Critical Hit! The target takes double damage. |
Failure: | The attack misses. |
Critical Failure: | The attack misses, and possibly hits an unintended target. |
