Magnifying Glass

Item

A portable magnifying lens with a handle.

When using it to examine an object, you gain a +3 item bonus against the Perception difficulty of anything you haven't seen.

Examine

You closely examine an item or small area for hidden features and properties. The object or area must be within your reach. and can be no more than 4 x 4 x 4 feet in size (2x2 spaces on a square game board.)

Make a Perception check. Your examination takes five minutes. The GM determines what you notice about the object during this time and may call for additional Knowledge checks based on what you find.

You gain a +3 item bonus to spot anything you haven't seen when examining with the magnifying glass.

Assistance: Helpers make a Examine (Perception) check.

Light a Fire

You attempt to start a fire using the tools at your disposal. Choose an area containing wood or some other fuel to start a fire in. Make a Dexterity check of difficulty 20.

You automatically fail this check unless you're outside in direct sunlight.

Success: You successfully start a small fire that will grow in the presence of sufficient fuel.
Failure: Your fire merely smolders and smokes. You may try again.
Critical Failure: You damage your tools. Make a Durability check against them if applicable.
