The Polar Lichens are a genus of recently-discovered, cave-dwelling fungi found exclusively in Antarctica. They have been found in five different colors, and appear to have been native to the region during ancient Ætherian times.
The white variety is most commonly found in caves near the surface in icy regions. In alchemy, it's used in potions that alter the drinker's state of mind.
