Ver. 1.3.1

Blinded

Summarized List: Status Effects

A Blinded creature can't see, and so suffers penalties to Perception and its related actions. This effect can be temporary or permanent.

Blinded 1: A creature that is blind in one eye suffers a -2 penalty to Perception involving sight, and a -5 penalty to Marksmanship.

Blinded 2: A creature that is completely blind automatically fails all Perception and Marksmanship checks involving their sight.

Sources and Counters

This effect can be temporary or permanent, depending on its cause. Creatures can temporarily receive Blinded 2 as a result of thick clouds of smoke, and are effectively Blinded 2 when in total darkness. In these cases, the effect is removed as soon as the cause of blindness is removed.

A called shot to the eye of a creature can permanently inflict Blinded 1 on a critical hit. This effect should typically be used sparingly, if at all, against player characters due to its permanently disabling effect.
