List of Spell Types
A Cantrip is a minor magical effect. Rather than being cast as a full magical spell, a cantrip's effects take place as part of another, more mundane action.
A cantrip can only be cast as part of another action. The cantrip's description lists the actions it can be cast on. This is called the cantrip's base action.
Casting a cantrip is a free action that doesn't cost any action frames in addition to the frames its base action already takes up. When you declare the base action, you must declare any cantrips before you roll to determine the action's outcome. Just like any other spell, the energy consumed by it is wasted if you fail to cast it properly or if the outcome of the base action doesn't satisfy the cantrip's requirements.
