Ver. 1.3.1

Frightened

Summarized List: Status Effects

This status effect represents a creature that has become so terrified of the source of its fear that they enter a state of panic. The source of fear can be another creature, an object, or an area. A creature can be frightened of multiple things simultaneously.

While a creature is frightened, it cannot willingly move closer to the source of its fear, and it has disadvantage on all ability and skill checks while the source of fear is within its field of vision.

Sources and Counters

A creature can become frightened during social interaction or combat as a result of intimidation. Large monsters might frighten someone simply by their presence, and certain characters may have phobias that cause them to become frightened in specific situations. All of these effects typically allow the target to resist being Frightened with a Determination save.

The effect lasts until the source of fear is out of sight and out of reach of the creature (unable to move towards the frightened creature) for one round.
