Magic Items
A magic item is any item that has been enchanted.
The complexity of magic items ranges from simple magic items, which bear only a single enchantment, to specialized artifacts made from complex enchantments
with a wide range of magical properties and behaviors.
Types of Magic Items
- Enchanted Weapons typically affect attacks made with the enchanted weapon. Rarely they may affect the holder directly.
- Enchanted Wearable Items confer their effects on a creature wearing them. If a creature is wearing multiple items enchanted with the same enchantment, only the strongest amplified enchantment applies to the creature. Exposure to excessively powerful enchantments in this form can cause spellsickness.
- Enchanted Objects that are neither weapons nor wearables exhibit one or more unusual behaviors. They might also emanate magic that affects all creatures nearby.
- Artifacts are any type of magic item with complex enchantments. They are essentially magical machines, capable of advanced behavior involving conditional logic and repeated or sequential effects.
