Multi-Classing

As your character grows and improves their skills, they may want to expand their skill set into an entirely new line of work. Multi-classing is the ability of a character to combine abilities from more than one class.

You may begin multi-classing once your character reaches level 7 in their first class. For requirements, see the Multi-Class Feat.

Rules of Multiclassing

Class Conflicts

Some multi-classed characters might have the option to take the same feats or class features from more than one of their classes. In cases where the rules of one or more features and/or feats owned by a character from different classes conflict with one another, a core class feature (defined by the class's table) always takes precedence over any feats. Whenever two features conflict, the higher-leveled one takes precedence. Whenever two feats conflict, the one with the highest character point cost takes precedence.

Stat Priority

Classes may define new formulas for some of your character's calculated stats, via the class table. Any stats that your class does not define a formula for are inherited from your race. The exception to this is hit points, for which you always increase your max HP by the hit point increment of the class you apply your level to.

When you have more than one class, they each take priority in order of the number of levels you have in them. This means that your highest-level class defines most of your stats. Any stats that it does not define will be inherited from your next-highest-level class if it defines them, and so on. If you have the same level in two or more classes, then the one you have had the longest takes priority.
