Rage is an "adrenaline rush" - a state of heightened emotions and physical abilities brought about by intense combat situations. It is a status effect with both positive and negative qualities.
While Raging, a creature gains the following effects:
Rage can only be active during combat or an encounter. In some circumstances a character may be able to activate Rage at other times, and initiate an encounter by doing so.
Several classes can enter Rage using their class abilities:
Other characters may be able to become enraged from external sources such as spells.
Once started, Rage cannot typically be willingly stopped and will continue until the current combat or encounter ends. Other ways of ending Rage may exist that are specific to each class.
Any spell or potion effect that cancels all status effects will also cause Rage to end.
