The Raider specializes in sword-and-shield combat. Add your Proficiency Bonus to one-handed attack checks with swords, and to Block and Protect Ally checks using shields. Add your Proficiency Damage to one-handed attacks with swords. Both of these values increase with your level according to the Mercenary Table.
At Level 8, you learn to use Shields more effectively. Shields you use gain a +3 bonus to their Shield Rating.
Starting at Level 15, you can flank enemies alongside your teammates to confuse them and lower their defenses.
An enemy is Flanked whenever you and at least one ally are within reach of them on opposite sides. Attacks against a Flanked creature have advantage.
Starting at Level 22, you can perform two Slash attacks with a one-handed sword in a single action frame. Each attack is rolled separately and may target the same or different creatures.
(These attacks count as one action. The repetition tax applies if you attack the same two targets with another Double Slash attack in the same turn.)
At Level 26, you've mastered the most effective use of shields. The Shield Rating bonus you receive increases to +8, and you gain an additional reaction frame while holding a shield.
Items with the ⬆ Upgrade symbol can be purchased any number of times.
Items with multiple tiers must be purchased in order (starting with tier 1.)
You can perform a single Slash attack with two shortswords (one frame) or two longswords (two frames.)
This move counts as one attack for the purposes of the repetition tax.
On a hit, the target takes damage equal to that of both weapons combined.
Prerequisite: Mercenary Level 8
Your expertise with the blade makes it harder for enemies to knock the weapon out of your hands.
While wielding a Raider weapon, you gain advantage on contested checks against being disarmed.
Prerequisite: Mercenary Level 10
You excel in the art of using your weapons to deflect attacks.
Your weapons don't take durability checks when you successfully parry with a shortsword or longsword.
Prerequisite: Mercenary Level 12
You can add an extra thrust to a Stab attack with a shortsword or longsword.
If you move at least 4 feet towards your target in the frame immediately preceding a Stab attack, a successful hit deals additional damage equal to the distance you moved in feet during the prior frame.
Prerequisite: Mercenary Level 16
You can perform deceptive feint moves, leaving your opponents confused and disoriented.
You gain 1 point in Feinting (Deception) as a specialty. Whenever you successfully feint an opponent, even if your real attack misses, the target has disadvantage on attack rolls against you for two rounds.
Items with the ⬆ Upgrade symbol can be purchased any number of times.
