Rituals

List of Spell Types

A Ritual is a powerful, complex spell that takes several minutes to cast and often requires the cooperation of multiple spellcasters.

Casting Rituals

Casting a ritual is treated as an assisted spellcasting skill check with a base difficulty of 20 if the initiator's skill level is equal to the spell's level. The difficulty increases by 5 for each level higher than the initiator, but cannot be lower than 20 if the initiator's skill level is higher. Each participant in the ritual must have unlocked their magical abilities (have a caster level of 1 or higher). Only the initiator of the ritual is required to know the spell.

Each helper in the ritual must be willing to take part, and all participants must be standing within 10 feet of the initiator. If started during combat, the initiator begins casting the spell as a long action. Helpers may Join the Ritual as a reaction or during their next turn as a one-frame action.

The initiator decides how the spell's energy cost is divided between each participant, and the level to which the ritual is amplified. Other participants in the ritual make a skill check in the ritual's form of magic if they know the ritual, or a generic spellcasting skill check (using their caster level as the modifier) if they don't know the ritual.
