Summarized List: Status Effects
A semi-conscious creature is aware of its surroundings, but the body and mind are in a state of deep relaxation, similar to mild sedation. In this state, the creature's subconscious begins to take over as their mind is cleared of mundane thoughts. Some have described the sensation as being similar to lucid dreaming.
The semi-conscious state can be achieved through Meditation. Spellcasters practice this technique to allow their subconscious to interpret Tolgethic, the mysterious language of spells. A spell can only be understood and memorized from writing while semi-conscious.
The status effect generally lasts for up to one hour once successfully achieved. A semi-conscious creature can interact with items within their reach, but cannot move, enter interaction or combat, or make any non-magical skill check. Performing any of these actions causes the Semi-Conscious effect to immediately end.
The effect ends if interrupted by a sufficient external stimulus, such as loud noises or speech. The semi-conscious creature can willingly exit this state at any time as a free action.
