Snake

Witch Archetype

Your familiar takes the form of a snake, giving it the ability to sneak through almost any space.

Familiar Hit Points

Your familiar's hit point total is based on your level at which you summon it, and your own level. All familiars are Level 3 creatures that increase in level when the Summon Familiar spell is amplified. Your familiar gains additional hit points according to your level in the Witch table.

Snake Familiar Features

The Snake form of a familiar has the following abilities:

Venom

At Level 9, your snake familiar gains the ability to Envenomate targets when summoned at level 9 or higher. This attack inflicts the Poisoned status effect and always hits when the familiar has already grappled a creature.

In Many Sizes

Starting at Level 13, whenever you summon your familiar, you can choose any size from -9 to +2 for your familiar's form to take. This size change affects your familiar's passive agility. At sizes -4 to 0, the reach of its Strike attack deals +1d damage and its reach increases by 4 feet; at sizes +1 to +2, the attack deals +2d damage and its reach increases by 8 feet.

When summoned at level 12 or higher, your familiar gains a Constrict action in which it wraps itself around a target up to 3 sizes larger than itself.

Rapid Strike

At Level 18, your familiar gains improved reflexes and speed in combat. It gains the ability to Strike up to two targets in a single frame, and the attack is exempt from the repetition tax.

(You perform two Strike actions in one frame. Each attack check must be rolled separately and can target the same or different creatures. This action can't be combined with other features that allow multiple actions in one frame.)

Giant Serpent

Starting at Level 23, you can summon your familiar at any size up to +9. For each size above +2, its Strike attack deals +1d damage (in addition to the extra damage from the In Many Sizes feature), and the attack's reach increases by 4 feet.

Fast-Acting Venom

Your familiar's Strike and Envenomate attacks deal 1d6 Poison damage instantly in addition to the Poisoned status effect.

Swimming

Your familiar takes on the form of an aquatic snake, enabling it to swim underwater and hold its breath trivially for up to 2 hours.

Tail Whip Attack

Prerequisite: In Many Sizes

Your familiar gains a Tail Whip attack action when summoned at size 0 or larger. The attack deals Bludgeoning damage equal to 2d8 plus the familiar's current size modifier.

Variable Size

Prerequisite: Giant Serpent

As an action , you can rapidly change the size of your familiar. This special action consumes 10 energy per size difference between the familiar's current and new sizes. You must be able to see your familiar when using this action.
