The Woodsman specializes in combat with axes and axe-like weapons. Add your Proficiency Bonus to One-Handed or Two-Handed attack checks with the following weapons, and your Proficiency Damage to damage rolls for those same weapons. Both of these values increase with your level according to the Mercenary table.
Starting at Level 8, your ability to sense when threats are nearby keeps you and your allies on guard. While adventuring, you and all companions travelling with you have advantage on Reflex saves and Instinct skill checks. In combat, you have advantage on initiative rolls.
At Level 15, your attacks have the potential to damage enemies' armor and shields. Hits with a two-handed axe or battle axe will always cause the target's armor to take a durability check if they're wearing any. If your attack hits a shield, any damage greater than the Shield Rating is dealt to the target and the shield always takes a durability check. Durability checks caused by this feature take a -5 penalty.
At Level 22, your experience in dangerous situations makes you and your team wiser. You get three free Skill Improvements, and each of your allies gets one free skill improvement.
At Level 26, you gain a strong protective nature. You gain a +2 feature bonus to all three saves. Whenever an ally within 30 feet of you attempts a save, you attempt the same save and the higher roll becomes the result.
Items with the ⬆ Upgrade symbol can be purchased any number of times.
Items with multiple tiers must be purchased in order (starting with tier 1.)
Add your focus modifier when using an axe or hatchet to Start a Fire. You gain 1 point in the Instinct specialty of your choice.
Prerequisite: Mercenary Level 8
You can perform Slashing-based attacks with hatchets & axes. These attacks inflict Slashing damage rather than Bludgeoning.
Prerequisite: Mercenary Level 12
Slashing power attacks with hatchets & axes always inflict Bleeding 1 on the target.
Prerequisite: Mercenary Level 9
You're adept at smashing your way through doors and barricades.
When using an axe or hatchet to Force Open an obstacle, roll the damage of that weapon and add the result to the Force Open check.
You aren't affected by the circumstance penalty for hatchets on Throw (Accuracy) checks.
Prerequisite: Mercenary Level 10
You gain a +5 circumstance bonus to Throw (Accuracy) checks with hatchets.
Prerequisite: You're Next, 5 Intimidation
Those who've seen you finish off your enemies will agree that there isn't much more terrifying.
Whenever you deal a lethal blow to a target with an axe, other enemies within 30 feet become frightened of you for three rounds.
Items with the ⬆ Upgrade symbol can be purchased any number of times.
